Commissioned pieces make excellent gifts and keepsakes. Each drawing is created using the highest quality lightfast and archival-grade materials to ensure longevity of your investment.
How it works
-
Step 1: Join the waitlist
Joining the waitlist puts you in queue. When a commission spot becomes available, I’ll contact you to discuss details and pricing.
-
Step 2: Secure your spot
Once we review images, sizing, pricing, and timeline, you can secure your space with a 50% deposit. I’ll reach out when I’m about to begin your portrait.
-
Step 3: Progress updates
The exciting part! As I work on your piece I’ll provide periodic updates and photos. This is your opportunity to give feedback. You can also choose to be surprised.
-
Step 4: Shipping
I will send a final picture of your completed piece, and mount it to fit a standard frame size. Once the remaining balance is paid, I will ship your piece.
Pricing
Prices listed are base prices, and include a silhouette drawing (no background), and mounting to a standard frame size. Additional sizes, subjects, and backgrounds will incur additional charges. If you’re unsure, contact me for a custom quote. Shipping is separate.

Tips: Choosing a reference photo
When drawing animals, I work from a reference photo, supplied by you. Choose an image that showcases the character of the animal or pet, and follow these guidelines:
Quality photos
-
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.

Qualities of a suitable reference photo:
Clarity: Important features and details such as eyes and nose are clearly visible and in focus
Lighting: Photo is taken outside or in natural lighting, without flash, and without harsh shadows
Angle: Photo is taken at eye level, not from extreme angles above or below
Colors: Colors are accurate to how the animal appears in person (no color filters)

FAQs

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
-
I use only the highest quality archival materials to ensure longevity of your investment. All paper and packaging is archival-grade and acid-free to avoid yellowing and deterioration, and all pencils have the highest lightfast ratings. Lightfastness refers to a pencil color’s resistance to fading, or how stable it is when exposed to strong light. In any case, displaying your piece in direct sunlight areas is never recommended. The primary supplies I use are listed below.
Pencils: Faber-Castell Polychromos, Caran D’Ache Luminance, Caran D’Ache Pablo, Derwent Lightfast
Surfaces: Fabriano Artistico 640gsm, Grafix Drafting Film, Clairefontaine Pastelmat
